July 4, Kathmandu. The gold seized from the Tribhuvan International Airport area on Wednesday has been kept in the vault of Takkar Division under the Print Management Department of Nepal Rastra Bank at Babarmahal in Kathmandu. The bond was raised on Thursday and the gold was kept in a vault.
The team of the Revenue Investigation Department handed over the gold to Taksar Division and returned. Then Thaneshwar Acharya, director of the division, informed that the gold was kept in a safe deposit box. He said that the team came back saying ‘we put gold in the dhukuti’. According to him, the gold will remain in the vault until the revenue team says anything more. “If they come with a letter from the revenue investigation saying that it has to be abused, tested, the process will proceed,” said director Acharya, “otherwise it will remain in the closet.” He informed that they will not do anything about it now.
The gold was brought from Hong Kong in the name of Ready Tradelink Budhanilkanth. The team of the department recovered the gold. The gold was seized when it was about to be taken to a taxi after passing the airport customs check. So far 6 people have been arrested in that case.
